SEAMEO BIOTROP, Pertamina Organize Training on Method Validation and Quantifying Uncertainty in Analytical Measurement

SEAMEO BIOTROP and the Joint Operation Body (JOB)  of  Pertamina-Talisman Jambi Merang conducted a Training Course on Method Validation and Quantifying Uncertainty in Analytical  Measurement for 17 of  their laboratory staff members on 19 – 20 August 2014 at BIOTROP headquarter in Bogor. 

The training was aimed to enhance the competency of  laboratory staff members of both institutions in method validation and verification for effective ISO 17025 implementation at SEAMEO BIOTROP and also for preparing JOB Pertamina to obtain  ISO 17025 accreditation next year.  The training was part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “ISO 17025 Consultancy Services” between both institutions. 

SEAMEO BIOTROP tapped the expertise of Mr. Anwar Hadi from the Environmental Management Center (PUSARPEDAL) of the Ministry of Environment (KLH) of Indonesia to discuss the following topics during the training: (1) Basic Concepts and Preparation of Revalidation/Method of Verification, (2) Method Precision and Accuracy, (3) Detection Limit, Repeatability and Reproducibility, (4) Reporting Method Validation, and (5) Experimental  Design of  Non-Standard Method Validation  and Uncertainty of Measurement.
