Bogor, Indonesia, 12 February 2026 — SEAMEO BIOTROP conducted a Mid Reflection Session with participants of the national MagangHub internship program to evaluate progress, strengthen institutional collaboration, and enhance the quality and impact of its internship initiatives. The session brought together leadership, mentors, and interns in a structured forum aimed at reinforcing professional development and mutual engagement between SEAMEO BIOTROP and partnering universities.
Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP Dr. Edi Santosa delivered opening remarks, expressing appreciation to both interns and mentors while sharing reflections from his professional journey. He encouraged participants to continuously expand their competencies, including writing skills, discipline, effective communication, and the ability to observe and seize opportunities. Dr. Santosa also underscored the importance of valuing the learning ecosystem facilitated by SEAMEO BIOTROP as a foundation for long-term professional growth. The session was then officially opened.
Deputy Director for Administration Dr. Elis Rosdiawati highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening both the quality and outreach of the internship program through sustained collaboration with universities. She emphasized the need to maintain strong workplace communication and collegial relationships, while expressing appreciation for mentors who consistently guide and support interns throughout their experiential learning process.
Affiliate Scientist of SEAMEO BIOTROP Dr. Supriyanto encouraged interns to cultivate problem-solving capabilities and creative thinking as essential competencies in professional environments. He stressed the importance of active coordination between mentors and interns to foster constructive learning relationships. “What we learn today may not yield immediate results tomorrow. We may dream as high as the sky, but we must also be prepared when those dreams come within reach,” he remarked.
The Mid Reflection session also included interactive activities such as intern performances, dialogue sessions, and team-building games designed to strengthen engagement and professional bonding. Through this reflective platform, SEAMEO BIOTROP expects MagangHub participants to remain motivated, innovative, and focused on achieving higher academic and career milestones.
