Publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals is important to establish researchers’ credibility and help contribute to the body of knowledge in their respective fields.  Thus, SEAMEO BIOTROP conducted a two-day writing workshop on 16 and 17 September 2013 at its headquarter in Bogor to increase the number of published articles in international peer-reviewed journals by Indonesian scientists.
 
The workshop was attended by 57 participants consisting of 22 PhD and 23 MS students from the  Institute Pertanian Bogor (IPB), six  researchers from PT SMART Tbk and Research Institute for Industrial Crops,  and five BIOTROP staff. 

This two-day workshop covered both theory and practice on writing scientific papers.  A cliniquing session was held to discuss/evaluate the full journal articles already drafted by 27 of the participants.

The resource persons of the workshop were : Prof. Dr. Ir. Suminar Setiati Achmadi, Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara M.Sc. , Dr. Iman Rusmana, Dr. Ir. Agustin Widya Gunawan, MS.  Dr. Rika Rafiudin from IPB, and Prof. Dr. Okky Setyawati Dharmaputra, Dr. Sri Sudarmiyati and Dr. Jesus Fernandez from SEAMEO BIOTROP.

With the favorable feedback from the participants, SEAMEO BIOTROP plans to have the workshop annually.
