BIOTROP Calls for 2015 Research Proposals

SEAMEO BIOTROP announces its call for proposals for its PhD Thesis Research Grants Program and Joint Research Grants Program for 2015. The deadline for submission of proposals is on 9 June 2014.

The PhD Thesis Research Grants Program generally aims to increase the number of qualified human resources in higher learning institutions and government agencies in Indonesia where the grantees are affiliated with the expectation that they would contribute to the country’s development in the area of tropical biology and natural resources management. Since it was launched in 2011, the Program has benefitted a total of 32 PhD students from 12 universities and research institutions in Indonesia.

On the other, the Joint Research Grants Program is meant to promote scientific collaborations among government research and academic institutions towards addressing common development concerns among Southeast Asian countries along the program thrusts of SEAMEO BIOTROP. After the Program’s launching in 2013, the Centre has awarded grants to two research projects this year with research partners from Malaysia and the Philippines.
