SEAMEO BIOTROP and Universitas Syiah Kuala Strengthen Their Collaboration Agreement

On 26 October 2022, SEAMEO BIOTROP with Universitas Syiah Kuala signed a collaboration agreement at AAC Dayan Dawood, Banda Aceh. This signing was officially done by the Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP, Dr  Zulhamsyah Imran and the Dean Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Universitas Syiah Kuala, Prof Dr Teuku Mohamad Iqbalsyah, SSi, MSc, witnessed by Vice Rector IV Universitas Syiah Kuala, Dr  Ir Taufiq Saidi, MEng, IPU.

This cooperation agreement is part of the Tri Dharma of the Higher Education and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program which included: MBKM program development and implementation; research, innovation and technology development; community services; professional exchange and cooperation in learning and curriculum development; information exchange, creation of databases and knowledge resources on tropical biodiversity in the field of flora and fauna; and the use of educational facilities and infrastructure.

The signing took place in conjunction with the opening of the International Conference on Fisheries and Environmental Sciences (ICFAES), organized by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Universitas Syiah Kuala. The scientific conference was attended by dozens of researchers and lecturers from research institutions and universities located in Indonesia,  Germany and other countries. This activity took place in  the AAC Dayan Dawood.

In his welcome remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Universitas Syiah Kuala, Prof Dr Muchlisin Z.A., SPi, MSc stated that ICFAES is an annual event of the faculty. The theme of the 4th ICFAES in 2022 was “Enhancing Research, Innovation and Collaboration toward the Blue Transformation”. (asa).
