MOMI CLOUDIA: Effective Communication in Supporting a Conducive Work Environment and Career

The September 2022 MOMI CLOUDIA was held with the theme “Effective Communication in Supporting a Conducive Work Environment and Career”. This event aimed to build character and improve communication skills. 

This event was officially opened by the Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP, Dr. Zulhamsyah Imran. In his opening remarks, Dr. Zulhamsyah Imran hoped that this event would benefit all participants. “Effective communication is a communication that can touch the heart, move the mind, and then be realized in actions that can be accounted for” said Dr. Zulhamsyah Imran. 

The resource person of this event was Ms. Lely Pelitasari Soebekty, SP, ME, who are the Vice Rector of Universitas Insan Cita Indonesia. In her presentation, Ms. Lely explained that there are several skills that can be improved for communicating effectively, such as 1) Observance, 2) Clarity and Brevity, 3) Listening and Understanding, 4) Emotional Intelligence, 5) Self-efficacy, 6) Self-confidence, 7) Respectfulness, 8) Non-verbal communication, 9) Selection of the right medium, and 10) Providing feedback. She also said that effective communication shall result in a change of attitude so that a good relationship is established between the sender and the receiver of the message in a communication activity.

The MOMI CLOUDIA was conducted on 8 September 2022 in a hybrid platform.  The 49 participants came from the SEAMEO Centers in Indonesia, universities, and research institutions. (asa).
