Brunei Education Minister Invites SEARCA To Share On Rural Income Growth Programs

Brunei Darussalam Education Minister Pehin Abu Bakar Apong has invited Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit Jr., Director of the Philippine-based Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), and his team to share with Ministry of Education officials SEARCA’s programs on addressing rural income growth and poverty alleviation.

The invitation came on the heels of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei’s directive to develop domestic agriculture to buffer any future food and price crises.

This week Dr. Saguiguit and his team will conduct a two-day visit to Brunei Darussalam, including a visit to Wasan Vocational School to look into the possibility of introducing agribusiness and entrepreneurship in the course curriculum.

Hosted by the Philippine government, SEARCA is mandated to build the capacities of institutions working in agriculture and rural development in Southeast Asia through its programs on graduate scholarship, research and development, and knowledge management. Source: http://www.brudirect.com
