Bogor, 18 May 2026 – SEAMEO BIOTROP organized the Socialization for Internship Program under the theme “Internship for Nature and Future.” The event was conducted online via Zoom Meeting and Live Streaming Youtube and attended by representatives from various universities across Indonesia. A total of 57 participants took part in the activity, representing higher education institutions from different regions of the country.
Ms Tenni Wahyuni, Manager of the Human Resources and Administration Department (HRAD) as well as the activity coordinator, explained that the event aimed to introduce SEAMEO BIOTROP along with its programs and activities, while also opening opportunities for collaboration with universities in Indonesia to support student competency development through internship programs.
In his opening remarks, SEAMEO BIOTROP Director, Prof Edi Santosa stated that internship programs are among the efforts to encourage graduates to become more adaptive and globally minded. “Seeing the very positive impact of this student internship program, we certainly hope that it can continue to be implemented and supported by the facilities available at SEAMEO BIOTROP,” he stated.
Following the opening session, the event continued with a presentation by the Deputy Director for Administration, Dr Elis Rosdiawati, regarding Capstone internship programs at SEAMEO BIOTROP. The presentation covered the program timeline, participant requirements, internship topics, and mentors involved in the internship program.
SEAMEO BIOTROP has implemented various internship programs, including capstone internships, Ministry of Manpower (KEMNAKER) internships, high school student internships, and research internships. The capstone internship program is specifically designed by SEAMEO BIOTROP as a culminating experience in students’ learning process during their internship at BIOTROP.
Through this event, SEAMEO BIOTROP hopes to broaden students’ perspectives on integrating theory with practical experience. In addition, the program is expected to enhance students’ professionalism, problem-identification skills in the workplace, and independence in facing future professional challenges.
