Description
Dear Readers,
Welcome to the latest edition of BIOCourier, where we share SEAMEO BIOTROP’s ongoing efforts to advance tropical biology through research, innovation, education, and regional collaboration.
This quarter reflects our commitment to transforming scientific knowledge into meaningful actions. From strengthening partnerships at the International Mushroom Congress in the Philippines and participating in the Global Sustainable Development Congress 2026, to expanding capacitybuilding programs for teachers and educational communities, each initiative demonstrates our dedication to creating sustainable solutions for Southeast Asia.
Education remains at the heart of our mission. Through urban farming, circular economy initiatives, hydroponic education, suboptimal land management, and biofloc-based aquaculture, we continue to promote practical learning models that enhance food security, environmental stewardship, and community resilience. These programs also reflect our belief that innovation becomes truly valuable when it empowers people and contributes to sustainable development.
We sincerely thank all our collaborators and readers for your continued trust and support. We hope this edition inspires new ideas, partnerships, and collective action toward a more sustainable and resilient Southeast Asia.
Warm regards,
Prof. Dr. Edi Santosa
