Dear Readers,

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the second quarter issue of BIOCourier for 2025. This edition is a celebration of SEAMEO BIOTROP’s unwavering commitment to innovation, scientific collaboration, and sustainable development in tropical biology across Southeast Asia.

Over the past months, we have seen remarkable milestones that affirm our dedication to nurturing nature and sustaining the future. From hosting the SEAMEC President’s official visit and showcasing our flagship programs such as the AgroEdu-Eco Tourism and the School of Biodiversity, to launching impactful collaborations like the Blue Curcumin DNA barcoding research with Universiti Sains Malaysia, our Centre continues to strengthen its position as a regional leader in biodiversity education and research.

Notably, we are advancing into the digital frontier by embracing emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and the Metaverse to tackle biodiversity management. Our Regional Webinar was a vital step forward, underscoring how digital innovation can elevate conservation awareness and engagement, especially among educators and young learners.

We also proudly welcomed the first cohort of our 2025 Capstone Internship Program, nurturing future leaders in science and environmental stewardship. These young minds, guided by our experts, embody the promise of a greener, smarter future. Moreover, our initiatives to integrate food security into educational curricula through urban agriculture underscore our belief that education is key to solving complex environmental and societal challenges. The energy and commitment demonstrated in our national workshops and policy meetings reflect a shared vision for resilient communities empowered by knowledge and action.

As we look ahead, I invite all stakeholders, partners, and communities to continue walking this path with us—towards a more sustainable, inclusive, and biodiverse Southeast Asia.
