Training in cooperatives administration was held by BIOTROP for its nineteen staff on 8 - 9 February 2017 in its campus in Bogor. This event was also attended by four delegates from SEAMEO SEAMOLEC.

Four experts from Department of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises of Bogor City were invited as the resource persons. In the first day, Drs Anas S. Rasmana, MM., the head of the department, and Mr Ali Susanto, M.Si., the cooperatives section chief of the department, shared the knowledge related to UU No. 25 year 1992 as the base foundation, principles, objectives and significant points of cooperatives. In the second day, materials covered were financial mechanisms and member meetings, served by Mr Saebani, SE. and Drs Suminto.

In the opening ceremony, Mr Ali Susanto, M.Si., was given an opportunity to give the first remark. He stated that the purpose of conducting this activity was to introduce the basic knowledge of cooperatives including administrative requirements such as technical documents and finance as well as how to manage and operate this kind of business institution. This event was also held to help the member of cooperatives in understanding their roles, rights and obligations.

Dr Irdika Mansur, Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP, in his opening speech, hoped that the management of BIOTROP’s cooperative would be better and such socialization could be held at least three times a year with different participants due to its important nature.
