Students Visits of SMAN 1 Bogor - 743 time(s) visited

Some 118 public high school students from the SMAN 1 Bogor visited SEAMEO BIOTROP on 11 March 2009.

The visit to SEAMEO BIOTROP was part of the school’s program in introducing the relationship between biology and the natural world. It is especially intended to make the students develop an understanding of the utilization of biotechnology for the benefit of human beings.

Ms. Rima Febriana, welcomed the group and followed by presentation about SEAMEO BIOTROP by Mr. Iwan Setiawan, IRU Head of SEAMEO BIOTROP. Ir. Erina Sulistiani, MSi. gave a presentation of tissue culture, while Ms. Ina Retnowati explain about fungi and microbiology.

A brief discussion on the BIOTROP activities followed the presentation, after which a tour of the biotechnology and tree-breeding laboratory was conducted.
