SEAMEO BIOTROP Receives Certificate of ISO 9001:2000 - 736 time(s) visited

SEAMEO BIOTROP has been awarded certificate from International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in quality management system (ISO 9001:2000). This certificate is an acknowledgement that SEAMEO BIOTROP has been implementing quality management system.

SEAMEO BIOTROP is one of the 15 regional centers under the Southeast Asian Ministry of Education (SEAMEO). The activities cover research, training, networking, and personnel exchange and information dissemination in tropical biology.

“ISO 9001:2000 should be appreciated by stake holder which means that SEAMEO BIOTROP services are in high quality standard”, said Dr. Bambang Purwantara, SEAMEO BIOTROP Director.

“Initiation and implementation of ISO 9001:2000 started in year 2008 under the leadership of the former Director, Prof. Dr. Handoko. As results of hard work and efforts from BIOTROP staff, the certificate was handed on January 2009”, according to the Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP. In addition, he said that this achievement is follows the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certificate for services laboratory in 2006.

ISO 9001:2000 certificate of SEAMEO BIOTROP is valid from 21 January 2009 until 20 January 2012. Scope of the certificate includes: scientific research, services and research laboratory, education and training administration, publication and documentation support research activities, and dormitory and facilities management.
