Joint International Tropical Medicine Meeting (JITMM2009) and 6th Seminar on Food and Water-borne Parasitic Zoonoses (FBPZ6)

It is a great pleasure to invite you to join hundreds of other tropical medicine specialists at 3 concurrent meetings, each with a different focus, at the Centara Grand Bangkok (www.centarahotelsresorts.com ), between 2-4 December 2009.

The Joint International Tropical Medicine Meeting (JITMM), 3-4 December 2009, Asia's premier annual international meeting in Tropical Medicine.

The JITMM attracts world leaders in all aspects of tropical medicine and tropical health every year, and has thus justifiably become a “must-attend” event in the calendar of tropical medicine specialists everywhere. This year, the theme is “Tropical Health in a Time of Economic Crisis”. Sessions will cover cutting-edge updates and debates on communicable and non-communicable diseases prevalent in the Tropics, the impact of the global economic recession on the health status of populations in the Tropics and ways to best manage tropical health in problematic times, as well as travel medicine and the impact of travel on the potentially lightning-fast transmission of dangerous communicable diseases.

The 6th Seminar on Food- and Water-borne Parasitic Zoonoses (FBPZ6), incorporating the 3rd International Meeting on Gnathostomiasis, 2-4 December 2009.

FBPZ cause death and serious diseases in humans and animals worldwide, and are of both public health significance and socio-economic importance. This meeting provides a focused forum for discussion of ongoing control projects, and covers recent advances in epidemiology and molecular and immunological research.
